Facilities (PTS)

PTS offers a comprehensive suite of advanced training facilities designed specifically for the electrical supply industry, including Western Australia's only fully live training yard. The yard replicates real-world conditions across low voltage, high voltage and underground networks, providing hands-on experience with essential tools and equipment such as transformers, elevated work platforms (EWPs) and cable layers.

Supporting the yard are specialised facilities like Bay 2, dedicated to Service Connection Testing (SCT), and the Switching Room, which enables safe and realistic switching simulations across a range of network scenarios.

PTS also features fully air-conditioned training rooms equipped with advanced audiovisual systems, comfortably accommodating up to 50 participants.

While attending training at PTS, you'll also have access to the following amenities:  

Break rooms 

Enjoy your breaks in our lunch room, complete with kitchen amenities and indoor/outdoor seating.  

Change rooms & showers 

On-site change room are available, along with a limited number of lockers for personal belongings. Showers are provided - please bring your own towel and toiletries. An accessible restroom is also available, equipped with both a toilet and shower for visitors with specific needs.  

First Aid Room 

First Aid Officers are available on-site, and a dedicated First Aid Room is located in the main building.  

Parking 

PTS is committed to providing an inclusive and accessible environment. Our facilities are wheelchair friendly, with an ACROD parking bay located directly opposite the main entrance at Reception. 

For safety purposes, vehicles should be reverse parked.

Parking is available in two fenced areas near the main entry gate. While the car parks are secured at night, they remain open and unmonitored during the day. We recommend securing your vehicle and personal belongings.  

Please note: Vehicles parked in a PTS carpark are left at owner's risk.

Smoking Policy  

In line with Western Power's smoke-free workplace standard, smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere within the PTS grounds. A designated smoking area is located outside the main gate. Please use the ashtrays provided in this area to dispose of cigarette butts responsibly.
